About Me

Sonya is a wife, mother, author, associate pastor, and most importantly a daughter of God. As a child, Sonya gained a great love for poetry. She used it to express her faith and would eventually gain confidence in speaking through poetry competitions. Overtime her writing evolved from writing poetry alone to writing inspirational books and blog posts on a variety of subjects. Her hope for writing is to draw people to God by seeing believers matured, the church convicted, and the sinner converted.

In high school, Sonya sensed God calling her to work for Him. Although she couldn't imagine what that would mean, she made it her goal to say yes to whatever He asked. Sonya graduated from Emory University with a degree in religious studies. She would later receive a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology. She currently serves as an associate pastor along with her husband Bo. They live in Atlanta, GA, and have three children.

Professionally, she loves working for non-profits, serving those who need help and building community. She is the Community Engagement Manager for a local Atlanta non-profit.

This is my why

I want this page and all the ministry I do to draw people to Christ, and for believers, I want to see them, discipled, strengthened, encouraged while gaining a passion for God and scripture.
